The 12 Finalists to Compete for Princess of North Sumatra 2009 Tomorrow
Twelve beautiful girls from North Sumatera (Sumatera Utara / abbv. Sumut) will compete at the grand final on Wednesday (19/8) tomorrow at the Grand Angkasa Hotel, Medan, North Sumatra to win Puteri Daerah Sumut (literally translated to Princess of North Sumatra Region) 2009 and became ambassador of North Sumatra in the event of the 2009 Puteri Indonesia (literally translated to "Princess of Indonesia"). |

Julendi revealed that the winner will act as ambassador to popularize the issues concerning the development of the role of women in North Sumatera within the government programs to the national and international community.
"The Regional Princess (literally translated from Puteri Daerah) will act as ambassador of North Sumatra Province to promote all the potential that exists in North Sumatra. She will also spread the information about all the potential of the entire area to public as the icon of Puteri Daerah in accordance with the actual needs. So it is not only about tourism, " Julendi asserted.
For the long term, according to him, (this regional event) aims to build community of Regional Princesses whom will run the programs in the interest of the Government of North Sumatra Province, North Sumatra residents and Indonesian people, to improve the quality of Puteri Daerah and the living standards of North Sumatra pluralistic society.
“Serta meningkatkan peran aktif seluruh Putri Daerah selaku pemangku kepentingan dalam peranan perempuan Sumut terhadap pengembangan bangsa. Dan event ini dirancang secara kreatif dan dalam kemasan entertainment,” ujar Julendi.
"As well as to enhance the active roles of all Regional Princesses, as the stakeholders to improve the role of North Sumatera women for development of the nation. And this event is designed creatively and in the packaging of entertainment, " Julendi said.
He revealed that the 12 finalists that will be quarantined for three days starting from August 17 to 19 at the Grand Angkasa, Medan, to receive briefings from the various competent authorities, such as from the Department of Tourism and Culture of North Sumatra (Disbudpar Sumut), Yayasan Puteri Indonesia, North Sumatra Regional Indonesian Psychological Association (HIMPSI Sumut), MPW PP Sumut.
"And also with some other parties. In addition to the assessment of the 12 finalists, during the quarantine, they will receive briefings to broaden their horizons to compete at the national level competition later," Julendi added.
The Parameter
Because, Julendi said further, the figure of Regional Princess of Indonesia from North Sumatra will be used as the assessment parameter, so they should be eligible to 3Bs. "They are the brain (intelligence), the beauty (attractive appearance), and behavior. So the finalists need to get briefed," he said.
Julendi explained, at the grand final tomorrow, winner categories are the 2009 Puteri Sumut (2009 North Sumatra Regional Princess representing North Sumatra at the 2009 Puteri Indonesia), the 2009 Puteri Sumut Runner Up I, the 2009 Puteri Sumut Runner Up II, the 2009 Puteri Favorit Sumut (Favorite Princess of North Sumatera), and the 2009 Puteri Persahabatan Sumut (Princess of Friendships)
