The Princesses of North Sumatera 2009
Yayasan Puteri Indonesia (YPI) in cooperation with Timur Production and Provincial Government of North Sumatera (Pemprov Sumut) successfully held the North Sumatera regional level election of 2009 Puteri Indonesia (PPI XIV/2009) at Grand Angkasa Hotel, Medan, on August 19, 2009. The juries are Ir Dwi Putriyanthi, Siska Wahyuningrum, Hj. Marhamah Siregar, Iris Artika, SPSI, and Drs. Nalom Tambunan.

The winners for each category: Fatima Syahnur Lubis as the winner Puteri Sumut 2009 (2009 North Sumatra Regional Princess representing North Sumatra at the 2009 Puteri Indonesia), Christine for the runner up 1, Maria Elisabeth for the runner up II, Devi Windari for the Puteri Penampilan Terbaik (Best Performance Princess) and Astrid Harera Sipayung for Putri Persahabatan (Princess of Friendships).
The elected Puteri Sumut 2009 declared that she is ready to compete at national level of the upcoming 2009 Puteri Indonesia and also said that she had a dream to be elected as Puteri Indonesia 2009.
